**“Please, don’t throw me.” No one stopped laughing. 😨**

Leo’s words were almost swallowed by the music, clinking glasses, and laughter filling the elegant hall.

Victor heard him.

And somehow, that only made him smile wider.

“Relax, Leo. It’s just a little entertainment.”

A large dartboard stood in the center of the room, surrounded by black, white, red, and green sections. Thick padding had been placed behind it.

Several guests already had their phones raised. 📱

Leo looked around.

Nobody told Victor to stop.

Instead, someone clapped.

“Come on, Victor!”

Another guest laughed.

“Let’s see if he hits the center!”

Leo tried to pull away.

He was a grown man, but because of his short stature, the crowd had suddenly turned him into part of the evening’s entertainment.

“Put me down,” he said firmly.

Victor ignored him.

He lifted Leo with both arms, stepped several meters back, and began running toward the target.

The room exploded with excitement.

A few guests even started counting.

“Three… two… one!”

Victor turned at the last moment and threw him.

Leo struck the padded surface, slid down, and landed heavily on the floor.

Something slipped from inside his worn jacket.

A dark folder.

It hit the floor beside him and burst open.

Several sheets scattered across the polished tiles.

For one second, the room was silent.

Then someone shouted:

**“Ten points for that shot!”**

The crowd erupted in laughter. 😂

Victor bowed dramatically as if he had just completed a performance.

“Thank you! Thank you!”

Leo remained on the floor.

His face was red, not from pain, but humiliation.

Then a young woman pushed through the laughing guests.

Maya did not even look at Victor.

She knelt beside Leo.

“Can you stand?”

Leo nodded.

“I think so.”

“Take my hand.”

Maya helped him slowly to his feet.

Then she began gathering the papers that had fallen from the folder.

The first page looked like an ordinary technical drawing.

The second made her stop.

Her eyes moved from the paper to the huge presentation screen across the hall.

A technical design was displayed there.

Maya looked back at the paper.

Same curve.

Same fastening mechanism.

Even the same tiny handwritten mark beside one of the measurements.

Her expression changed.

“Is this your folder?” Maya asked quietly.

Leo immediately took it.

“Yes.”

His voice had changed.

“It wasn’t supposed to open.”

Maya noticed Victor watching them.

Only moments earlier, he had been laughing.

Now there was something else in his expression.

Concern.

He approached.

“Everything all right?”

Maya straightened.

“Yes.”

Victor’s eyes dropped to the folder.

“Hopefully nothing important was damaged.”

Leo pressed it tightly against his chest.

“Nothing.”

Victor smiled again.

“Excellent. Then let’s continue.”

He returned to the stage.

But Maya stayed beside Leo.

“I’ve seen that drawing before.”

Leo remained silent.

Then he looked toward the stage.

“You’ll understand soon.”

The lights dimmed.

Victor began presenting what he described as his company’s greatest invention.

A compact folding accessibility ramp appeared on the screen.

“My team has spent nearly two years developing this design,” Victor announced proudly.

The guests applauded. 👏

Leo gave a quiet, bitter laugh.

Maya looked at him.

“What is it?”

Leo opened the folder again.

This time, he chose what she was allowed to see.

First, an old technical drawing.

Then an email.

A contract.

Finally, a patent application.

Maya stared at the date.

It was nearly a year older than Victor’s first public presentation.

“Wait…”

Leo lowered his voice.

“I designed it.”

Maya looked toward Victor.

He was still smiling onstage.

“I sent the project to his company for testing,” Leo continued. “The contract said the design and authorship remained mine.”

“What happened?”

“They stopped answering.”

Leo swallowed.

“Months later, he presented it as his own.”

Maya looked at the documents again.

“Is that why you came tonight?”

“I’ve stayed quiet for almost a year.”

Then Leo looked toward the dartboard.

“He knew I was coming.”

Maya suddenly understood.

The target.

The laughter.

The humiliating spectacle.

Victor had not simply wanted to embarrass Leo.

He had wanted everyone in the room to see him as a joke before he could accuse a famous businessman of stealing his invention.

“He thought you’d leave,” Maya whispered.

Leo gave a bitter smile.

“He almost succeeded.”

Maya looked toward the stage.

“No. You’re staying.”

Victor was about to reveal the final prototype when Maya stepped forward.

“Wait.”

Victor’s smile froze.

“Maya, this isn’t the time.”

“This is exactly the time.”

The guests turned.

Maya held up one of the drawings.

“A few minutes ago, everyone here laughed while this man was thrown across the room.”

The hall slowly became quiet.

“But the papers that fell from his folder are far more interesting than that little show.”

Victor stepped toward her.

“Put that down.”

Maya raised the patent application.

“This was filed eleven months before your public version.”

Whispers spread through the crowd. 😨📁

Victor laughed nervously.

“He copied me.”

Maya shook her head.

“Then explain something.”

She pointed toward the design on the screen.

“Why does your presentation contain the exact same measurement error found in his early draft?”

The room went completely silent.

Leo stepped forward.

For the first time that evening, nobody laughed.

He opened the folder himself.

“This design was mine before his company ever announced it.”

He showed the contract.

Then the dated drawings.

Then the emails and prototype records.

“I sent the project to his company for testing. They were never given the right to publish it under another name.”

Victor’s face tightened.

“This is ridiculous.”

But Maya held up the old drawing beside the image on the screen.

The mistake was visible in both.

Same measurement.

Same placement.

Same old version.

Guests began raising their phones again.

But this time they were not filming Leo to mock him.

They were filming Victor. 📱😶

One of the company’s board members walked onto the stage.

He took the documents from Leo and examined several pages.

After a long silence, he looked at Victor.

“The presentation is suspended immediately pending an independent investigation.”

Victor stood frozen beneath the bright stage lights.

Behind him was the same dartboard he had used to humiliate Leo only minutes earlier.

Now every eye in the room was fixed on him.

Nobody was laughing.

The independent review later confirmed that Leo’s documents were authentic.

The patent records, emails, contracts, and prototype files all showed the same thing.

Leo had created the invention first.

Victor’s company had received the design only for testing.

Victor was removed from the project.

The company was forced to correct its public records, restore Leo’s authorship, and return the money and rights that belonged to him. ⚖️📄

Months later, the first accessibility ramps were installed in the centers Leo had originally designed them for.

Maya stood beside him on opening day.

The first visitor approached the new ramp and moved up it independently.

Leo watched quietly.

There were no cameras pointed at him now.

No laughter.

No dartboard.

Only a small plaque beside the ramp carrying his name. ❤️‍🩹

Maya smiled.

“Now everyone knows who created it.”

Leo looked at the plaque.

Then he remembered the crowded hall, the fall, and the folder opening across the floor.

“Not everyone needs to know.”

He smiled.

**“This time, the right people heard the truth before someone could laugh it away.” ❤️✨**
